REDLAND MUSEUM - EXHIBITION PREVIEW


The first Personal Histories exhibition opens tomorrow at 10am.
Heartfelt thanks to all the artists 
who have put their trust in this project over the last 12 months
 and contributed works to make this excellent show become a reality.
There are some truly amazing artworks (and personal histories) here.

Herewith a few snapshots taken at the end of installation this week.
Hopefully a few better quality images will be taken at the opening tomorrow.

I look forward to meeting all the artists who are attending tomorrow and throughout the show.

    It looks lovely. I am sorry I didn't have the time to present a piece, too.But perhaps I'll manage a weekend in Brisbane before it comes down...

    Dear Rob, Congratulations! Looks like some lovely work there, and I love the space. It has just the right feel for the topic. Ian and I plan to get down as soon as we can. Sorry I couldn't make it to today's opening, but 10am just isn't happening for me these days.

      Thanks Lesley, I wish all the artists could see it in person. I shall get on to the online exhibition ASAP. Your work has certainly garnered a lot of interest with its connections to your close family history.

    Gosh what a wonderful show ! Have you produced a catalogue? I just tried to figure out who made the lyrically painted concertina book in photo no 14 by going back through the blog to the beginning but can't find out who did it... a beautiful work!

      Hi Mo, on-line catalogue in production as we speak. The concertina book you enquire about is by Australian Artist Catherine Gibb and is about her experience growing up along the East Coast of Australia. Catherine is an ecologically minded artist and great thought goes into the materials that make up her artworks. I shall let her know you appreciated her work - thanks for taking the time to comment on it.
