Feature Artist - RAVIKUMAR KASHI


is an artist from Bangalore, India, who works in different mediums including painting, sculpture, photography and installation.

He holds a BFA Painting (College of Fine Arts, Bangalore), an MFA Printmaking (Faculty of Fine Arts M.S. University, Baroda, and an MA in English from Mysore University.


Ravikumar has studied paper making under J Parry at the Papermaking Resource, Glasgow School of Art, UK, and also learnt Hanji (traditional Korean paper making) with Jang Yong Hoon and Seong Woo at Jang Ji Bang, South Korea.  He has shown his works in solo shows, group and curated shows across the world in galleries, art fairs and museums.  He writes on art In Kannada and English.



'My works combine or cut across the defined expectations of my chosen mediums.  My idea/concept driven works are layered and connect with the viewer in multiple ways.  Introspection is an important device in my works which touch upon the idea of self and its many facets.  I have also explored the themes of desire, gratification and destruction in individuals and on a societal level.'
